Autumn Term 1
Here are some highlights of our curriculum this half term:
English Reading: Our reading lessons will be mostly based on the book ‘The Fire Work Makers Daughter’ by Philip Pullman.
English Writing: In our writing we will be developing our skills of using noun phrases and dialogue to bring our own writing to life. This work will be supported by the book ‘Rumaysa: A Fairytale’ by Radiya Hafiza.
Maths: In maths we will be learning to secure place value to 1000, Calculate and convert measures and to add and subtract 4 digit numbers using the column method.
Science: States of Matter: We will explore the states of matter by investigating solids, liquids and gases, and learning how materials can change state through heating and cooling.
Geography: We will explore mountains and volcanoes, discovering how they are formed, where they are found around the world, and the impact they have on people and landscapes.
DT: We explore structures and pneumatic systems, learning how strong frameworks are designed and how air pressure can be used to create movement.
Spanish: Mi familia (My family)
RE: Theme: The 99 names of Allah
Computing: Repetition and loops within programming.
PE – Wednesday -Dance and Friday - netball
